Capabilities:
- Precision ZA-12 Zinc/Aluminum Castings
- Ideal for 300 to 20,000 Parts
- Economical Alternative to Sand, Die & Investment Casting Lower Total Acquisition Cost
The Isotech precision casting process uses graphite molds to produce net and near net shape parts in ZA-12 zinc/aluminum alloy. It is an economical alternative to sand, die, and investment casting; machining; and, in some cases, plastic injection molding for production quantities of 300 to 20,000 parts per year.
Rapid Turnaround and Reduced Time-to-Market
The exceptional machinability of graphite dramatically shortens the time needed to produce molds. And, the high accuracy and exceptional surface finish of parts cast in graphite molds virtually eliminate the additional finishing steps required with other casting techniques. This further reduces the total time from design to production.
ZA-12 Alloy Outperforms Traditional Materials
Isotech ZA-12 zinc/aluminum alloy offers an excellent combination of mechanical properties, surface finish, and low cost. ZA-12’s strength, hardness, and wear properties are better than any other general-purpose nonferrous casting alloy. Because ZA-12 is spark proof, it can be used in hazardous environments, including those underground. In addition, ZA-12 offers excellent castability, has a distinctive lustrous appearance, and its low casting temperature promotes long mold life.
